Questions On Streaming

Okay. So first off… Let me warn you that I’m making this post from my phone while on the train. Let’s blame any typos on autocorrect.

Also. Any formatting issues.

Now that we have that out of the way, on to business.

As some of you may know I’ve done the occasional stream via twitch. Generally these are not the highest quality streams as my computer is a little dated and I’m running it over a wireless network.

So I’ve been trying to figure out solutions that will help me improve the stream and make it more watchable.

One solution I’ve come up with when streaming games is to kill my webcam. Hopefully this will kill some of the strain on my processors. But I also know the standard now is to stream yourself and people seem to feel it makes the stream better.

So my question is this. Is it too big if a deal now if a streamer doesn’t utilize the webcam? Especially when it’s for technical purposes?

I want what I do stream to be enjoyable so I’m trying to figure out which viewers would see as more beneficial. Possible better quality of the game stream or me making faces at them while I play.

Also. I just wanted to say that if I can find a reasonable solution to this issue. I am looking at a somewhat regular stream schedule. I just have to fit it around everything else.

Right now I am looking at doing regular streams of TSW, RIFT and various indie games.

I promise more details on all of that once I get the first matter worked out.
